How Do I get a contract with the City of Newark?

The Department of Administration, Division of Purchasing complies with procurement practices in accordance with the New Jersey Local Public Contracts Law 40A:11-1 et seq. The Division of Central Purchasing is responsible for the purchase of all goods and services for the City of Newark. Purchasing is the centralized division through which all City departments must request goods and services, and all vendors must register at Newarknj.gov to receive automatic notification of bid opportunities. Affirmative Action initiatives in awarding contracts to minority and female owned businesses are offered and awarded contracts with the City of Newark consistent with Affirmative Action requirements, goals and objectives.

City of Newark E-Procurement Services

The City of Newark has partnered with OpenGov, a web-based e-procurement service for public agencies. This e-procurement system provides prospective bidders with automatic notification and transmittal of bid solicitations. In addition, OpenGov gives suppliers access to bidding opportunities with other government entities. All of this is provided at no charge. REGISTER & FIND OPPORTUNITIES OpenGov registration is your first step to participating in bid opportunities. Please visit OpenGov for step-by-step instructions with vendor registration. Register and then follow the steps below to assist in successfully submitting a bid or proposal to the City of Newark. All current and future vendors should register and maintain an updated profile on the site. The site allows you to choose the products/services in which you have an interest. Through this registration, you will receive automatic notifications of bid or quote opportunities.
