How do I get a Contract with the City of Newark?

To do business with the City of Newark, you must have a State of New Jersey Business Registration Certificate. You can register your business online with the State HERE.

Contracts with the City of Newark to provide goods and/or services are available by Bid, RFP or RFQ.

For Solicitations released AFTER April 15th, 2021, please follow these instructions:

The City of Newark is excited to transition to online procurement in partnership with ProcureNow. This new system will efficiently guide vendors through the process of responding electronically to RFPs, bids, addenda, etc. to ensure your bids have been accurately completed and will serve as one location for all purchasing opportunities. ProcureNow also offers real time chat, email, and phone support for bidders/vendors with any questions about how to use ProcureNow.

To get started, click here to visit the sign up page.  You’ll receive an email to activate your account. Then, subscribe to our bids by navigating to the City’s eProcurement Portal and clicking the green subscribe button. For more information about how to register, please see our help file.

For Solicitations released PRIOR TO April 15th, 2021, please follow these instructions:

  • Bid Opportunities Vendors submit quotes for products and/or services in response to advertisements released by the Division of Central Purchasing. Contracts are awarded to the Lowest Bid submitted by a Vendor who can provide quality goods and/or services in the right quantity on a timely basis at the lowest cost to the City.   • RFP/RFQ – Request for Proposals or Qualifications is an invitation for vendors to submit written Proposals or Qualification Statements that meets certain criteria outlined by the City.
