Mayor Ras J. Baraka and Municipal Court Director Jessica Cavaco announced that the Newark Municipal Court launched three major initiatives to keep functioning in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The court began holding video court sessions via Zoom. Anyone interested in having their case heard via video can visit the Municipal Court’s website and register.

The court is also now accepting online payments for criminal complaints on a payment plan. Payments can be made on www.NJMCDirect.com. NJMCDirect will still process traffic ticket payments as well.

Finally, litigants are able to dispute a range of moving violation offenses carrying motor vehicle points. Please use www.NJMCDirect.com to start a dispute process and check for eligible offenses.
