Mayor Ras J. Baraka, Central Ward Council Member Gayle Chaneyfield-Jenkins, Newark Community Economic Development Corporation President and CEO Aisha Glover, and entrepreneurs Sam and Liz Siino cut the ribbon to open the new Suite 304 Restaurant today, at 304 University Avenue, in the city’s Central Ward.

The husband-and-wife entrepreneurial team renovated a location that has been closed for two years, and the new restaurant will offer a wide array of food, including Happy Hour specials.

“We are excited by today’s opening of yet another outstanding and unique restaurant in the city of Newark, which strengthens our economy and our luster as a destination for tourists and dining. The Siino family has great experience in restaurants and entrepreneurship and Sam Siino is a native Newarker who protected and served our residents for decades as a police officer, and will now serve them as a restaurant owner. We are grateful to the family’s commitment to our city and its future,” Mayor Baraka said.

“We are excited that Sam and Liz are bringing their business and restaurant expertise here to the University Heights section of Newark. Restaurants, amenities and recreational opportunities remain a strong sign of the city’s continued growth,” said Ms. Glover.

Mrs. Siino has more than 25 years of experience in restaurants and corporate dining in New York City. Her husband, Mr. Siino, is a Central Ward native who served as a Newark Police Officer for 33 years, and then opened Roman Security, and has run that for 10 years.

Their top chef, Michael Logan, had his own Italian restaurant in Manalapan, and has worked in Newark’s Radisson Hotel.

“We are excited to be a part of the revitalization happening in Newark and look forward to seeing what the future holds!” said Mr. Siino.
