o Newark:

 6 more positive cases than yesterday, and a total of 788 since June 30th.

 1 new death since yesterday; a total of 33 since June 30th.

o NJ:

 A total of 192,595 positive cases, which is 305 more than yesterday.

 A total 14,181 deaths, which is 2 more than yesterday.

• COVID-19 MEMORIAL

 We are going to create a memorial for those who have passed away from COVID-19. Please send information to our Facebook inbox if you know of anyone to include.

• FOOD RELIEF PROGRAM

 Thank you to all of our volunteers who came out to JFK to help with our food relief program today.

 The next food delivery will be next Wednesday.

 If you or someone needs food, please leave your information in the comments or send us a message.

 Also, if you are interested in volunteering by packing meals or delivering them, please call 972-733-3274 or 973-344-3942.

 Volunteers are needed on Wednesdays at JFK Recreation Center from 8:30AM to 11:30AM.

• LARGE GATHERINGS HOTLINE

 The calls to the large gatherings hotline are effective so thank you for reporting them.

 To date, we’ve had approximately 150 calls and because of what you share, we’re able to get to them in real time.

• NEWARK CONTINUES TO PUSH HARD FOR RESIDENTS TO COMPLETE THE CENSUS BY SEPTEMBER 30TH DEADLINE

 The push is on for Newark to get counted— and as shared, we have a few incentives for our residents.

 Each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, between 11:30AM and 2:30PM, outside the main branch of Newark Public Library at 5 Washington Street,

if residents come to get assistance with submitting the Census form online, $50 ShopRite gift cards will be given.

 Also, tomorrow (September 3rd), in front of City Hall, at 12 NOON, the first 150 Newark residents who come to complete the Census will also receive a $50 gift card.

 We also have the NEWARK CENSUS SELFIE CONTEST ($1,000 for the winner):

• 1) Fill out the Census form online

• 2) Take a creative selfie as proof it has been completed

• 3) Then email it to NEWARKCOUNTS@GMAIL.COM with a #NewarkCounts hashtag.

 You can also complete your Census TODAY online www.2020CENSUS.GOV or over the phone.

• CENSUS TRAIN – THIS SATURDAY

 This weekend, the “Census Train” will visit neighborhoods in each ward to help residents get counted. Beginning at 12:30 p.m. at the Elwood Avenue and Mount Prospect Avenue areas, the Census Train will bring a float, DJ, and giveaways to intersections of Broad Street and Market Street, South Orange Avenue and Fairmount Avenue, down Elizabeth Avenue, and end at Ferry Street and Wilson Avenue (the 5 corners).
