 216 more positive cases than Friday, and a total of 1,596 since June 30th.

(About 43 new cases a day).

 2 new deaths since Friday; a total of 40 since June 30th.

o NJ:

 A total of 216,023 positive cases, which is 4,010 more than Friday, October 9.

(About 802 new cases a day)

 A total of 14,402 deaths, which is 26 more than Friday, October 9.

 Thank you to the residents and businesses who honored Be Still Mondays and shut things down at 7. Mayor recognized that people may have COVID fatigue and want to go back to normal lives but we still need to take measures to keep our community safe.

 Please continue to call the hotline (973-969-1122) to report large gatherings, large groups not practicing social distancing and crowds not wearing masks.

• CENSUS DEADLINE CHANGED – LAST DAY IS TOMORROW

 The U.S. Supreme Court allowed the Trump administration to end its count of the US population early. The final deadline is now tomorrow, Oct. 15!

 The Mayor thanked everyone involved in getting Newark counted.

 As of today, our self-response rate is 50.6%.

 If you haven’t completed the Census, complete it online right away at www.2020CENSUS.GOV

• 20 DAYS UNTIL ELECTION DAY!

 Drop your ballots in the ballot drop box, mail, drop off in person to the County Board of Elections, or drop off in person to your polling location (be sure to check your location to ensure it’s open).
