• Here are our numbers in Newark and New Jersey—

o Newark:

1 less than yesterday, a total of 225 since start date of 6/30/20.

1 new death, a total of 7 since start date of 6/30/20.

o NJ:

The number of State positive cases is 176,278, which is 363 more than yesterday.

The number of State deaths is 13,660, which is 25 more than yesterday.

• #MASKUPNEWARK

 Thank you to everyone for continuing to send in selfies and ideas for #MaskUpNewark.

 We’re working on incorporating your photos into the digital campaign. So please keep sending them in.

 We received a couple more slogan ideas since the Mayor shared the others on Friday: Jacqueline Jeffrey, “Change the Face of Newark... Maskup” and “Mask up! Let’s get a taste of what it’s like to keep our town safe!”

• POP-UP COVID-19 TESTING AND CENSUS SITES

Testing:

 We had testing at School Stadium and we will be there until this Friday at

9AM-4PM (right by the clock tower on the Bloomfield Ave side).

 We’re also testing at Grace West Townhomes (Clubhouse-301 Irvine Turner Blvd) on Thursday and Friday for residents of Grace West (9AM-4PM). If you know someone who lives there, please share the information.

• CENSUS

 We’re doing a big Census push because Newark is not counted in the way that we should be.

 The Mayor is urging you to PLEASE complete the form if you have not already done so.

 www.2020CENSUS.GOV or you can call 844-330-2020.

• FOOD RELIEF PROGRAM

 Today, we continued with our food distribution to families.

 To date, we have served 835,811 meals.

 The next delivery will be next Wednesday so if you need food or know someone who does, please let us know by leaving info in the comments or sending us a message.

• COMMUNITY CLEAN UP

 This Saturday, July 18th  – North Ward Community Clean Up

 City Office of Tenant Legal Services in collaboration with Ironbound Community Corp and other tenant rights groups will be holding our 2nd KNOW YOUR RIGHTS web town hall.

 It’s for Essex County renters and homeowners – and eviction and foreclosure rights during the COVID-19 pandemic will be discussed
