• HERE ARE OUR NUMBERS TODAY

o Newark:

 9 more positive cases than Friday, and a total of 760 since June 30th.

 1 new death since Friday; a total of 32 since June 30th.

o NJ:

 A total of 191,960 positive cases, which is 989 more than Friday.

 A total 14, 165 deaths, which is 15 more than Friday.

• LIMITED INDOOR DINING

 Governor Murphy announced today that restaurants are allowed to have limited indoor dining starting on Friday, September 4th.

 Indoor dining will be limited to 25% of the restaurant’s seating capacity.

 will be strictly enforced.

• LARGE GATHERINGS HOTLINE

 Call 973-969-1122 to report large gatherings, large groups not practicing social distancing, or if there are crowds not wearing masks – in NEWARK.

• FOOD RELIEF PROGRAM

 Our food relief program is still underway.

 The next food delivery will be this Wednesday.

• COVID-19 VACCINE TRIALS

 Mayor encouraged residents to view the statement about the vaccine trial noting that the City of Newark cannot and did not authorize for any residents to partake in the research. If you do not want to be involved or have any uncertainty, please do not participate. If you are considering enrolling in the clinical trial, gather as much information as you can and inquire about how it can affect you. The trial is 100% voluntary and you have the right to say no.

• CITY OF NEWARK AND NEWARK PUBLIC LIBRARY POP-UP CENSUS SITE

 If you visit the pop-up Census site located on the sidewalk in front of the Newark Public Library to receive one-on-one assistance to complete the Census online, you will receive a $50 Shop Rite Gift Card (one per family while supplies last – ID required).

 Less than half of the residents of Newark have filled out the 2020 Census!  Make sure you and your family are counted!
