• Reach out to federal representatives to urge the President to use the Defense Production Act, which will allow the government to mandate certain companies to produce the things we need such as masks, gowns, ventilators so we don’t have to deal with price gouging. • Mayor Baraka shared that he’s going to start ending with a poem. Today’s is by Lucille Clifton, “Won’t You Celebrate With Me”
won't you celebrate with me
what i have shaped into
a kind of life? i had no model.
born in babylon
both nonwhite and woman
what did i see to be except myself?
i made it up
here on this bridge between
starshine and clay,
my one hand holding tight
my other hand; come celebrate
with me that everyday
something has tried to kill me
• Words of encouragement: Love life, keep living, stay safe, stay positive. God speed.
