Danielle Smith has worked for the City of Newark for over two decades and is a proud graduate of Morgan State University and Hampton University. She is a Certified Municipal Financial Officer. Prior to serving as the Acting Finance Director, she served as Newark’s Comptroller. She has spent her time and energy devoted to improving the effectiveness of Newark and New Jersey as well through her service as a Commissioner of the Insurance for the City of Newark and on the Ethics Committee of the Supreme Court of New Jersey and the Government Finance Officer Association. Danielle Smith is a role model for her record of service, leadership, and commitment which continues to provide in excellence which others can emulate and strive toward.
