Senior Computer Operator

POSITION DESCRIPTION AND REQUIREMENTS

The Newark Municipal Court is seeking to hire a Senior Computer Operator; to operate Digital Front End (DFE)with high-volume, multi-function copiers/printers and finishing equipment. Must have strong working knowledge of image processing systems, Client-Server and Midrange job control interfaces via LAN/WAN topology.Position requires a motivated self-starter with team player qualities and excellent communication skills to perform duties related to this position.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to consistent scheduled daily operation and maintenance of high volume copier/printers, finishing equipment and peripherals. Duties include mail pickup and distribution, paper and inventory orders and stocking, networked computers and printer maintenance, troubleshooting, service support calls, monitoring and escalations, customer service and support.

Applicants should be detail oriented with strong customer service skills. Court hours are 8:30a to 7p. We are looking to fill the following shifts: 8a-4:00p. Candidate is required for extended shift support due to the needs of court, but may request a preference.

Experience:

Two (2) year of experience in operation of a mainframe departmental sized computer console in a computer room. Must have strong working knowledge of image processing systems, client-server and cloud based networking, mainframe and midrange job control interfaces via LAN/WAN topology.

NOTE: Satisfactory completion of a course of study in computer operations at an accredited college, university,technical, or vocational school may be substituted for one (1) year of work experience (Training in the operation of a personal computer will not be accepted).

LICENSE: Appointees will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle, rather than employee mobility, is necessary to perform the essential duties of the position.

The successful candidate will comply with New Jersey Rules of Court, Supreme Court Directives, Code of Judicial Conduct, Newark Employee Handbook and all established policies governing the operation of Municipal Courts. This is a provisional appointment.

RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT: Pursuant to Section 2:14-1 of the Newark Administrative Code, all persons newly hired must be a resident of Newark.
