Mayor Ras J. Baraka will join four other New Jersey mayors to release a new report created by the New Jersey Urban Mayors Association designed to help Governor-Elect Phil Murphy and his team better understand the issues facing New Jersey’s cities. The report will be released on Wednesday, November 15, at 8:30 a.m., at the Sheraton Atlantic City Convention Center Hotel’s Pearl Ballroom, in Atlantic City.
At the event, Mayor Baraka and four other mayors will discuss key issues facing New Jersey’s cities, including school funding, host city issues, and economic development. Entitled “Designing Public Policy for a Thriving New Jersey,” the report will focus on three case studies that attempt to put each of the key issues into focus and demonstrate how they can interact with each other and can come together to form solutions.
Perth Amboy Mayor Wilda Diaz, president of the New Jersey Urban Mayors Association; Bridgeton Mayor Albert Kelly; Camden Mayor Dana Redd; and Trenton Mayor Eric Jackson will be the other speakers. The John S. Watson Institute for Public Policy of Thomas Edison State University provided research and support for the report.
