Mayor Ras J. Baraka, U.S. Representatives Bill Pascrell, Jr., and Leonard Lance, State Senator M. Teresa Ruiz, Mayor Albert Kelly of Bridgeton, who is also President of the League of Municipalities, Professional Firefighters Association of New Jersey President Dominick Marino, New Jersey Realtors President Robert Oppenheimer, and other elected officials will hold a press conference to discuss the negative impact of President Trump’s tax plan on New Jersey residents, on Monday, October 2, at 11:45 a.m., at the City Hall Press Briefing Room, 920 Broad Street, Newark.  Last summer, Congressmen Pascrell and Lance released a bipartisan letter co-signed by 68 colleagues asking Secretary of Treasury Steve Mnuchin to preserve the federal deduction for state and local taxes in any plan to reform the tax code.  They pointed out that the proposed tax plan eliminates a deduction which would adversely affect New Jersey.
