MAYOR BARAKA AND US CITIZENSHIP AND IMMIGRATION SERVICES TO HOST NATURALIZATION CEREMONY ON WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 19, AT 4:30 P.M., ON FRONT STEPS OF CITY HALL, 920 BROAD STREET

 Mayor Ras J. Baraka, Deputy Mayor of International Relations and Diaspora Affairs Ugo Nwaokoro, the Islamic Society of Essex County, and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services will welcome 20 immigrants as American citizens in a ceremony today, Wednesday, October 19, at 4:30 p.m., on the front steps of City Hall, located at 920 Broad Street.

The 20 citizenship candidates are from the following 12 countries: Bangladesh, Brazil, Burkina Faso, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Egypt, Ghana, Guyana, Jamaica, Nigeria, Pakistan, and Vietnam. USCIS Newark Field Office Director Randi Borgen will administer the Oath of Allegiance. Mayor Baraka will deliver keynote remarks.

In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony will be held in City Hall’s First Floor Rotunda.
