About this Portal

The portal is the result of Mayor Ras J. Baraka’s goal of providing greater access to affordable housing opportunities for residents. It is one of Mayor Baraka’s many equitable growth housing initiatives. Although envisioned long before COVID19, the pandemic has proven just how important it is to enable Newarkers to obtain homes that residents can afford.

NewarkHousingSearch.com residents to find housing they can afford, whether by rental or purchase of a home. It enables landlords and property owners to list and advertise their affordable rental units at no cost. Potential tenants receive free access to those listings and can tailor their search for housing to include information on accessibility, neighborhood amenities, and other features.

A Few of the Features:

You can search by neighborhood, rental or for sale, rental or purchase cost, bedrooms, baths, senior or disability, public transit, pets ok, parking, furnished, assisted living, security deposit and much more. You can see photos of many of the properties and a map showing where properties are located.

A call center is available to assist you if needed and the site is accessible in Spanish, Portuguese, French and many other Languages.
